Blooms for Three Oaks: local florists unite to support survivors of domestic violence

By Paul Martin May 1, 2026 | 10:03 AM

This Mother’s Day, local florists across the Bay of Quinte are coming together for Blooms for
Three Oaks, a community-driven campaign supporting women and children affected by
domestic violence.
Led by Three Oaks Foundation, the women’s shelter serving Hastings and Prince Edward
Counties, the campaign invites community members to shop locally while giving back.
Participating florists have each chosen a unique way to contribute, with a portion of sales
supporting Three Oaks’ shelter and services.
As part of the campaign, Three Oaks partnered with Dahlia May Flower Farm to host an online
silent auction featuring their 6-month flower subscriptions. The auction successfully raised
around $500 for the organization, and Three Oaks extends its sincere thanks to Dahlia May for
their generosity.
Community members can support Blooms for Three Oaks in the following ways:
Avondale Flowers & Gifts (April 22 – May 11): Customers can add a $5 donation to any
purchase, with Avondale matching donations up to $2,000.
Barber’s Flowers (May 1 – May 9): 50% of sales from a featured bouquet will be donated to
Three Oaks.
Blush Floral (May 7 – May 10): $5 from every featured Calla Lily planter sold will support Three
Oaks.
Designs by Alexis Rose (Pre-orders available now – Order by May 9): Three Spring Mix bouquet
options are available, with $5 from each bouquet sale donated to Three Oaks.
Flowers by Dustin (May 7 – May 10): A featured bouquet will support Three Oaks, with each
purchase including a locally made bookmark.
By choosing to shop with participating florists, community members can celebrate Mother’s Day
while making a meaningful impact locally. This Mother’s Day, every bouquet gives back.
