Police arrest man following incident with axe in Belleville

Belleville Police have arrested a man following an incident involving an axe.

On April 30th at 2:58pm, Belleville Police responded to reports of a male walking alone up Front St. swinging an axe. While officers were en route, a business on North Front St. reported that the same individual had entered the business and slammed the axe onto the counter.

As a result of investigation, officers located, arrested and charged Kenneth Casselman, 48-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, with:

· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

· Mischief – interferes with any person in the lawful use of property
