Shahid Mahmood is heading back in the Quinte region.
Mahmood is slated to arrive at Pearson International Airport in Toronto after flying in from Istanbul this afternoon – a 15-hour, one-stop journey, where he will hold a press conference.
Representatives of Belleville for Justice and Peace, will greet Shahid at the airport and bring him home.
Mahmood was part of Canadian participants of a Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza, intercepted by Israeli occupation forces between May 18 and May 21 in international waters.
The Canadians participated in the international civilian mission that departed on May 14 from the port of Marmaris, Türkiye (Turkey), headed for Gaza, to break the illegal blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation.
