On May 22nd at 6:05 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a report of a disturbance on Front Street.
It was reported that a male struck another male in the face and continued to assault him while he was on the ground. Officers located the suspect a short distance away. As a result of police investigation, Erik Benford, 52-year-old Belleville male, was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
