Mayor, Council, members of the City of Belleville’s Accessibility Advisory Committee and the public gathered in the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre’s multipurpose room yesterday afternoon to celebrate the 2026 Accessibility Excellence Award winners.
During the ceremony, Mayor Neil Ellis and Committee Chair Councillor Barbara Enright-Miller were pleased to recognize this year’s award winners:
- Canadian Tire – Employment
- Discover Belleville – Built Environment
- Harold McQuigge – Built Environment/Education
- Kingston Online Services KOS – Customer Service
- Quinte Arts Council – Customer Service/Information & Communication
- Supporting Health Care Workers Fight vs. Covid 19 Assistive Medical Devices Program – Customer Service
- Westlake Home Security – Customer Services/Education
The Accessibility Excellence Awards aim to recognize and highlight local businesses, groups, organizations and individuals who go out of their way to provide and advocate for accessibility provisions in the city. Nominations ran from March to April this year and reflected the following areas: Built Environment, Customer Service, Education, Employment, Information and Communication, and Transportation.
