Three impaired arrests made in Northumberland this past weekend

The Northumberland OPP made three arrests for impaired driving over the weekend.

At approximately 8:00 am on Saturday April 11, 2026, an officer who was in a fully marked cruiser equipped with an Automatice Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) was patrolling Burnham Street on Division Street in Cobourg.  The ALPR notified the officer that the registered owner of a black SUV had a suspended Ontario drivers licence. The vehicle was stopped and the police investigation at the scene led to the arrest of the vehicle driver.

Travis Green, 42 of Cobourg, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while prohibited

 Later in the evening of April 11, 2026 as officer conducting radar speed enforcement County Road 45 stopped a black SUV after it was measured travelling in excess of the posted 60 km/h speed limit. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. As a result, Ryan BEATTY (age 46) of Hastings, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speeds
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

On Sunday, just after 10:30 pm, while patrolling Highway 401 eastbound, an officer observed a grey colored sedan that was unable to maintain driving within a marked lane. The vehicle was stopped on the shoulder of the highway near the off ramp in Alnwick Hadimand Township. After a conversation with the operator, the officer suspected the driver had been consuming alcohol. The officer administered a roadside screening device test and the driver registered a fail.

As a result of the investigation Clint REBELLO (age 29) of Quinte West, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

All three accused received an immediate drivers licence suspension and the vehicles they were driving were towed and impounded. They were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on scheduled dates in May 2026.
