Tuesday was a big day for a local organization that provides safety programs to thousands of children across the Quinte Region.

Chad Buell and Kevin Colebourne, Financial Advisors for Co-operators in Belleville, are proud to announce a second $20,000 donation to the Children’s Safety Village of Hastings–Prince Edward.

This renewed contribution builds on their earlier support and will directly advance the Village’s relocation and redevelopment campaign. The project is critical to ensuring the long-term continuation of the Village’s mission: teaching local children essential, life-saving safety skills through fun, interactive, and educational experiences.

The relocation will enable the Children’s Safety Village to expand its reach, modernize its facilities, and introduce new and enhanced programs that address today’s evolving safety challenges — including road safety, personal awareness, and online safety.

“This second donation reflects our ongoing commitment to community safety and education,” said Chad Buell, Financial Advisor for Co-operators. “As a co-operative, giving back is part of who we are. We believe investing in the next generation means helping ensure children have the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to stay safe.”

The donation was made possible with the support of the Co-operators Advisor Community Fund, which helps advisors partner with local organizations to strengthen communities. For decades, Co-operators staff and advisors have worked together to build safer, healthier, and more resilient communities — a responsibility that continues to guide the organization today.
