Two arrested following armed robbery attempt in Tyendinaga

Two people were arrested following an attempted armed robbery in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory on Monday afternoon.

The Tyendinaga Police Service posted the following information on their Facebook page on Monday night.

Just before 5:00PM Today, Tyendinaga Police Service attended an armed robbery at a business on airport road. A male and a female were located at scene and taken into custody with the assistance of employees of the business.

The suspects attended the location and attempted to rob the business using a bat. An assault occurred and the suspect was controlled by employees until police arrived.

The suspects were arrested and held pending a bail hearing.

Further updates including names of the accused and charges will follow at a later date.

There is no threat to community safety at this time.
