Brighton building stats for August

Brighton is continuing to stay above water when it comes to construction value of building activity this year.

Municipal officials say seven permits were handed out last month at a construction value of $3.3 million.

The number of permits are fewer for the month of August than the 13 recorded last year, but the construction value cleared the $1.7 million racked up from August of 2024.

Year-to-date numbers show the same picture, with a lower number of permits, 108 compared to 118 through the first eight months of 2024, but a huge leap in construction value from $42.4 million to $108.4 million.

Permits for two single-unit dwellings cleared more than $1 million in construction value last month.
