TMHF celebrates $132,000-plus raised from Smylie Golf Classic

By Brock Ormond Aug 14, 2025 | 4:05 PM

More than $132,000 was raised in the name of community healthcare last week.

Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation officials proudly announced a $132,501.70 net total raised from the 2025 John Smylie Memorial Golf Classic at Oak Hills Golf Course.

The money is going to TMH’s Emerge Stronger campaign.

One major highlight of the event was a Helicopter Golf Ball Drop sponsored by 1000 Islands Tours won by Amanda Reid (golf ball #1069).

“I was SUPER excited because we just bought a new house, and this will go toward a new fence.  It was perfect timing,” she told TMHF.

Joyce Fowler, Golf Ball #486, winner of the Early Bird prize, a helicopter tour for two over the 1000 Islands.

Jessica & Ian Smylie, title sponsors and long-time supporters of the event, expressed their gratitude to the community:

“We are thrilled by the results of the John Smylie Memorial tournament. To net over $130,000 for the Emerge Stronger campaign is incredible and is a testament to both the charitable nature of our community, and the fundraising prowess of the TMHF.”

TMHF executive director Lindsay Butcher-Dodds gave thanks to sponsors, golfers, committee, volunteers and TMHF team for helping to raise vital funds for the Emerge Stronger campaign – supporting new equipment at TMH and the expansion of the ER to keep exceptional care close to home.
