Charges have been laid against a towing company and a transport driver in connection with a three-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Camden East on Friday morning.
OPP were called to the crash at the eastbound ramp at Camden East Road/County Road 4 west of Odessa near the Millhaven Creek at 6:08 a.m.
A tow company was working on a disabled transport in a live traffic lane and failed to notify the OPP,” said Scott Woodburn, with the Lennox and Addington County detachment. “The pickup moved into another lane to avoid the tow work and was subsequently rear-ended by another transport.”
The tow company was charged with careless driving and obstructing traffic. The driver of the second transport was also charged with careless driving.
Woodburn said no one was injured in the crash.
The Ministry of Environment was called in to clean up a diesel spill into the Millhaven Creek which is ongoing.
The area reopened to traffic just before 12 p.m.
