A knife and some crystal meth were seized during an arrest on Sunday morning in Belleville.

On November 30th at 9:39am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a disturbance at an apartment complex in the city’s east end. It was reported that an unknown person had been tampering with the security cameras in the lobby and hanging up clothing.

Upon arrival, officers observed a woman in the lobby, where clothing had been hung inside the door and observed the security cameras to have burn marks. Officers advised the woman that she was required to leave the building. The woman then began consuming crystal methamphetamine from a glass pipe and brandished a knife.

The female was placed under arrest and police seized 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine.

As a result, a 39-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

· Mischief under $5000

· Arson – damage to property

· Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

She was held for a bail hearing. No name was released.
