Quinte Region escapes worst of windstorm with power grid intact

By Paul Martin Nov 27, 2025 | 7:48 AM

High winds overnight from Wednesday into Thursday have swept through the Quinte Region without causing much damage to the area’s power grid.

Hydro One is responding to many outages in Northern and Southern Ontario, but locally we have only experienced a handful of smaller outages.

The largest blackout on the regional scene is affecting more than 6,000 customers in Northumberland in an area stretching from Colborne to north of Roseneath.

They hope to have all the lights back on in that area soon.
