By Brock Ormond Nov 26, 2025 | 4:37 PM

The Northumberland Detachment of the OPP has charged a motorist after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a weapon.

On Tuesday, at approximately 12:15 a.m., officers stopped a passenger vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 401 in the Township of Hamilton after observing it following another vehicle too closely.

Further investigation revealed the driver was breaching multiple release orders. The individual was taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of an edged weapon.

Minja Prodanovic, 36, from Orleans, has been charged with:

–      Unauthorized possession of weapon

–      Failure to comply with release order – three counts

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
