YMCA to honour amazing local citizens next month

By Paul Martin Nov 26, 2025 | 9:59 AM

Some amazing people will be honoured by the local YMCA for their efforts to support and enhance the community at two special events next month.

The YMCA Peace Awards recognize individuals and groups who demonstrate a commitment to building peace within their communities or globally.

The medals honour those who have made significant contributions to peace through their actions.

This year, they are recognizing

2025 Belleville Peace Award Luncheon
Nancy and Jamie Troke, Bob and Barbara Jo Clute and Ed and Fran Lehtinen
Monday December 8th at Dinkel’s in Belleville

2025 Quinte West Peace Award Luncheon
Tom and Lorraine O’Quinn and Ken and Cynthya Schmidt
Tuesday December 9th at Tomasso’s in Quinte West

Tickets are $100, and must be purchased separately for each event.

All proceeds raised from this event go to the YMCA of Central East Ontario, ensuring everyone, despite their background, abilities or financial position have the opportunity to find belonging at their local YMCA.
