Members of the Bancroft OPP have charged one person with impaired operation.

On Friday, November 21, just before noon, Bancroft OPP officers received a traffic complaint from a member of the public.

A short time later officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

An approved screening device was used during the stop and police say the results of the test showed the driver to have more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in their body.

Duane Lukawesky, a 57-year-old resident of Bobcaygeon, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is set to appear in Bancroft Court on December 23.
