Belleville finalizes water and wastewater rates for 2026

Belleville Council has increased the rates for users of the municipality’s water and wastewater systems.

Council approved the following staff report at the meeting on Monday afternoon.

Proposed Rate Changes Effective January 1, 2026
– Increase to Water rates of 1.63%, with larger increases to monthly flat rate water charges at 5%.
– Residential and General Service Wastewater surcharge increased to 111.9%
For 2026, the average residential customer using 18 cubic metres (m3) monthly will experience an increase in their combined water and wastewater bill of 5.36% or $7.26 per month.
