Belleville to finalize water and wastewater rates for 2026 on Monday

Belleville Council will take a look at increasing the rates for users of the municipality’s water and wastewater systems on Monday.

Proposed Rate Changes Effective January 1, 2026
– Increase to Water rates of 1.63%, with larger increases to monthly flat rate water charges at 5%.
– Residential and General Service Wastewater surcharge increased to 111.9%
For 2026, the average residential customer using 18 cubic metres (m3) monthly will experience an increase in their combined water and wastewater bill of 5.36% or $7.26 per month.

Belleville Council meets Monday afternoon at 4 pm.
