Sanitary sewer flushing and maintenance continues in Picton November 24 – 28

By Hailey MacDonald Nov 23, 2025 | 5:43 AM

The County’s sanitary sewer flushing and maintenance program continues in the Picton Wastewater Collection System this week.

Flushing will take place between the hours of 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday in the following locations:

November 24 – 28 – Picton Main St from George Wright Blvd to the intersection of Chapel St (Tim Hortons), and the Millenium Trail from Lake St to approximately behind No Frills/Canadian Tire.

Sanitary sewer mains will be flushed using high pressure water and service will be conducted on pumping stations throughout wastewater collection systems.

Flushing is conducted to maintain proper operation, prevent blockages, and remove debris that can collect in the collection system. Flushing will not be conducted on private sanitary laterals.

While sanitary sewer flushing is taking place, customers in the immediate area are asked to keep toilet seats closed on the first and basement levels of dwellings. Splashing may occur intermittently as sewer mains are flushed.

Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area of flushing and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of work. Traffic Control will be in place where required.
