UPDATE – Shannonville Road has been reopened (as of 8:50 am). One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

ORIGINAL STORY – Shannonville Road was closed just south of the 401 on Friday morning after a major collision.

OPP posted to social media around 7:45 am that both the north and southbound lanes of Shannonville Road were closed between the 401 and Hinchey Road following a two-vehicle crash.

Officers with Lennox and Addington OPP are on the scene.

Drivers are being asked to use alternate routes as there are hydro wires down on the road and there is no word yet on how long the closure may last.

There is also no word yet on injuries.
