One of Quinte’s finest figure skaters is on top of the podium, continuing an outstanding calendar year of 2026.
Quinte West native Trennt Michaud and partner Lia Pereira won the gold medal at the Skate Canada International in Kelowna, B.C. this past weekend.
The duo earned the event’s highest program component score in the free skate (65.50), their first Skate Canada International medal.
The pair also posted a season-best score in the event’s short program.
The win follows in the footsteps of the tandem’s Top 10 finish at the Milano-Cortina Olympics in February and a bronze medal at the World Figure Skating Championships in Czechia in March.
