Two arrested on drug charges in Bancroft

The OPP have made two arrests after seizing over $18,000 worth of drugs in Bancroft.

On Sunday, shortly after 9:00 a.m., officers checked on a vehicle on Buck Hill Road and observed items associated with illegal drugs in the car.

Two people were arrested at the scene and a search of the vehicle officers located over 40 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 24 grams of suspected cocaine, as well as morphine and lorazepam pills.

Bradley VEINOT, age 40 and Katherine ZACARELLI age 45, have been charged with:

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance – two counts

Both of the accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 5, 2025.
