Just in time for the return of classes, faculty and support staff at Loyalist College will be rallying for the future of post-secondary education tomorrow.
Students and community allies will be joining the cause outside the main entrance of Loyalist’s Belleville campus at 376 Wallbridge Loyalist Road, with remarks to begin just after 12 p.m.
Representatives of OPSEU say recent cuts to faculty, and alarming decisions by senior management, have cast doubt not just on the financial sustainability of Loyalist College, but also the availability of quality, local post-secondary opportunities for current and prospective students in surrounding communities.
The event will feature remarks from president of OPSEU JP Hornick, faculty union president Tracy McKenzie and professors from recently suspended programs.
Local residents are encouraged to attend.
