A Wellington Dukes rookie defenceman will be representing his country at a tournament next month.
Gavin Godick was named to Team Red for the Under 17 World Challenge held in Oakville, Ont. from November 1 to 7.
The 16-year-old rearguard from Thunder Bay has posted five points (two goals, three assists) in 10 games in his debut season in junior hockey.
Godick was a third-round draft pick of the Kingston Frontenacs in this past June’s OHL Priority Selection Draft.
The annual Under 17 World Challenge features two teams from Canada (Red and White) and one from Czechia, Finland, Sweden and the United States.
