A Belleville man has been charged with assault following a reported attack on a young person in a city park.
On July 28, 2026, at 6:35 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a park in the city’s east end following a report of an assault.
Officers were told that a verbal altercation had occurred between a male and a group of youths, which escalated when the male reportedly grabbed one of the youths, threw him to the ground, and kicked him.
As a result of the investigation, Francesco Galizia, a 20-year-old Belleville man, was located, arrested and charged with:
· Assault
He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.
