Heavy rain could hammer the Quinte Region over the next 24 hours or so.
A Special Weather Statement was issued by Environment Canada early Tuesday morning over projected rainfall levels, with some areas possibly getting 50 to 100 mms before it ends.

Heavy rainfall possible tonight through Wednesday morning.
What: Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 mm locally.
When: Tonight through Wednesday morning.
Additional information: A low-pressure system is forecast to develop tonight and then stall over the area by Tuesday. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected for some areas, leading to rainfall amounts that exceed 50 mm and may approach 100 mm in a few locales.
Note that rainfall amounts will vary widely across the area due to the convective nature of this precipitation.
Rainfall warnings may be issued for some regions as confidence increases.
