Hastings County mourns loss of Carlow/Mayo Mayor Randy Wallace

The Quinte Region is mourning the loss of a dedicated local leader who was also a central figure at the County level of government.

Hastings County released a statement on Monday afternoon marking the passing of Mayor Randy Wallace of the Township of Carlow/Mayo.

It is included in its entirety below.

STATEMENT FROM HASTINGS COUNTY – It is with deep sadness that Hastings County mourns the
passing of Mayor Randy Wallace of the Township of Carlow/Mayo.

Mayor Wallace served his community with dedication and care and was a valued member of County Council.
Through his service as Mayor and as a member of Hastings County Council, Mayor Wallace demonstrated a deep
commitment to the residents he represented and to the well-being of the broader County community. He was a caring
leader who valued the work of County staff and supported the services provided across Hastings County.

“Mayor Wallace was a quiet and supportive leader who served with dedication, compassion, and a deep sense of
responsibility to the people of Carlow/Mayo Township and to all of Hastings County,” said Warden
Bob Mullin. “He cared deeply about his community and brought a steady, thoughtful presence to
every discussion at County Council. His kindness and commitment to public service will be
remembered with great respect.”

On behalf of Hastings County Council and staff, we extend our sincere condolences to Mayor
Wallace’s family, friends, colleagues, and the residents of Carlow/Mayo Township. His
contributions to public service and to the County as a whole will be remembered.

Carlow/Mayo also issued its own statement on Wallace’s passing

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mayor Wallace.
The Council and Staff of the Township of Carlow/Mayo wish to extend their deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family.

Randy Wallace began his municipal service as Mayor of the Township of Carlow/Mayo in 2022. From that moment forward, he led with generosity, sincerity, and a genuine desire to do what was best for the people he served.
His dedication to our community was unwavering, and his impact will be felt for many years to come.

We are grateful for Randy’s commitment to our Township and for the guidance he provided.
Randy’s absence will be felt immensely throughout Carlow/Mayo, and his legacy will remain a lasting part of our community.
