SECOND UPDATE – Cogeco posted on Facebook that problems were continuing in the Oakville area last night due to a secondary fibre cut. The official reason for the outage has not been released but that seems to indicate that a line may have been cut to cause the widespread Cogeco outage on Monday in Ontario. The posts from their Facebook feed are included below.
UPDATE: Many Cogeco outages were resolved in Quinte around 5 p.m. Monday.
Access for many TV and internet providers across a swath of Ontario is unavailable due to a reported Cogeco outage.
The outage was confirmed earlier Monday afternoon and is affecting customers from Toronto all the way through to Kingston, including those here in Quinte.
Phone services and retail point of service is also being affected in some areas.
Many customers are reporting the outage map is unavailable and Cogeco Ontario stated on social media that technicians have been dispatched to resolve the issue.
No cause of the outage has been confirmed as of yet.
