Belleville Police have charged a local man, in connection to a tenant dispute reported in the west-end of the city.
Officers were called to a residence on Tuesday around 12:10 p.m.
Police were told that a man located along an upper staircase, was yelling at two resident who were in the yard. The man reportedly spat at one of the residents below, and broke a CD and threw the pieces towards them.
Officers were unsuccessful with getting the man outside of the residence.
Belleville Police arrived back on scene at 3 p.m., after the same male suspect contacted dispatch even through there was no emergency. Police were told that the man had made threats towards the two residents. There is a claim that the man had a firearm and pointed the firearm at one of the residents.
The 43-year-old man from Belleville was taken into custody, without incident, outside the residence.
He is charged with two counts of uttering threats-causing death or bodily harm, along with one count each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using an imitation firearm, assault, assault with a weapon, and public mischief.
He was held for a bail hearing.
