Student in east-end Belleville charged with robbery after incident with a weapon

Belleville Police have charged a teen after a student was reportedly threatened with a knife.

On May 20th (Wednesday) at approximately 12:45pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a weapons incident in the city’s east end.

It was reported that a student from an east end secondary school approached another student and demanded their pizza while brandishing a knife.

As a result of investigation, a 17-year-old Belleville female, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

· Robbery with a weapon

· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
