Multiple people face breach charges following separate incidents in Belleville

Four people were arrested following separate incidents on Tuesday in Belleville involving breach of release/probation orders.

Fail to Comply

On May 19th at 7:40am, Belleville Police responded to a business in the city’s west end regarding an unwanted person. It was reported that a female was banging on vehicles outside the location. Upon investigation, it was learned the female was bound by conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result of investigation, a 28-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Fail to comply with a probation order X3. She was held for a bail hearing.

Warrants

On May 19th at 10:51am, Belleville Police responded to a business on Dundas Street East regarding an unwanted person. It was reported that the individual was causing a disturbance for patrons. Upon investigation, it was learned that the female had an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant for failure to comply with a probation order.

As a result, Victoria Burleigh, 46-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested on the strength of the warrant. She was held for a bail hearing.

Fail to Comply

On May 19th at 5:36pm, Belleville Police observed a vehicle driving erratically in the city’s east end. Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke to both the driver and the passenger. Upon investigation, it was learned the passenger was bound by conditions not to communicate with the driver of the vehicle.

As a result of investigation, a 19-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a release order.

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in August.

Warrants

On May 19th at 9:51pm, Belleville Police responded to a call for service in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, EMS was attending to a female who had become argumentative. Upon investigation, it was learned that the female had two outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrants for failure to attend court and fail to comply with probation. As a result, Rebecca Cottrell, 34-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested on the strength of the warrants. She was held for a bail hearing.
