Driver found asleep at the wheel charged by Central Hastings OPP

Officers from the Central Hastings OPP have laid charges in an impaired driving investigation where a driver was reportedly found asleep at the wheel.

On Monday May 18, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., police on general patrol located a pickup truck stopped in a right- hand turn lane on Highway 7 in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake.

The driver was found asleep behind the wheel, with the vehicle door open.

The driver was arrested at the scene and transported to the Central Hastings Detachment for further testing.

Angelo Bove, 41, of Toronto, was charged with impaired driving and impaired with a blood alcohol concentration level over 80 mg.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on June 29,
