Vehicle fire stalls traffic in Tyendinaga Township

A vehicle fire on Old Highway 2 in Tyendinaga Township stunted traffic late Tuesday afternoon.
Tyendinaga Township Fire Department, the Ontario Provincial Police, and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Old Highway 2 just east of Wyman Rd. before 4:30 p.m.
Reports from the scene indicated the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters managed to get the blaze under control and extinguished after 5 p.m.
The fire forced a brief closure of the section of Old Highway 2 between County Rd. 49 and Wyman Rd. and even after the closure was lifted, the OPP remained on scene for vehicle removal.
There’s no word on number of vehicle occupants or injuries as of yet.
