Prince Edward County rehabilitation project the subject of public input April 23

By Brock Ormond Apr 12, 2026 | 9:09 AM

The County of Prince Edward will share more details about the rehabilitation of the Outlet Bridge at a public information centre on Thursday, April 23.

The PIC will take place from 6 – 8 pm at the Athol Town Hall (1685 County Road 10, Cherry Valley) and will consist of a drop-in format with displays showing the recommended plan for the bridge rehabilitation.

County staff and the project consultant will be on hand to answer any questions.

County Council approved the project as part of the 2026 tax-supported capital budget. Detailed structural investigations in 2024 found wide cracking in several elements of the bridge structure. In addition, the deck barrier system must be replaced to meet current standards.

The bridge rehabilitation is anticipated to be completed from May – October 2026. A minimum of one lane of traffic is anticipated to be maintained throughout the duration of the work.
