Belleville woman charged in intimate partner violence case

Belleville Police have charged a city woman in an intimate partner violence case.

On March 19th (Thursday), Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end following a report of a domestic dispute.

It was reported that a male and female could be heard yelling and causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with both individuals.

Through investigation, it police say they determined that the altercation was initiated by the female and escalated into a physical confrontation.

As a result, a 37-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with assault – spousal.

She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.

No name was released.
