The Belleville Senators were back at home to take on the Hartford Wolf Pack, falling 4-1.
The first period featured plenty of scoring, starting with Hartford opening the game just over six minutes in. On the power play, Anton Blidh recorded his second goal of the season, with Nathan Aspinall and Juuso Parssinen picking up the assists to give the Wolf Pack a 1-0 lead.
The Senators responded just after the halfway mark. Kasper Halttunen snapped his four-game pointless streak, scoring his sixth of the season, while Eskild Bakke Olsen and Samuel Bolduc picked up the assists to even the contest at 1-1.
However, Hartford regained the lead late in the opening frame. On the man advantage, Glenn Gawdin and Marc Del Gaizo worked together to set up Justin Dowling, who scored his second of the season to make it 2-1.
The middle period saw no scoring, with Hartford outshooting Belleville 10-5 heading into the third.
In the final period, the Senators pushed to even the score but were unable to find the back of the net. Hartford added two more goals, both into the empty net, to seal the victory. Carey Terrence scored the first at the 19:19 mark before Anton Blidh added his second of the night for a final score of 4-1.
Belleville will see the Wolf Pack again early next year when the Senators travel to Connecticut for a January 15th matchup at PeoplesBank Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Senators have Halloween Saturday off before returning to action Sunday, when the Toronto Marlies (AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) come to town. Belleville will celebrate their inaugural home opener at CIBC Place, with puck drop scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
