Building activity down in Quinte West to start 2026

Building activity in Quinte West was down for the first two months of the year.

Figures released by the city show that there were 51 permits issued in January and February for projects with a combined construction cost of $5.88 million.

That is down from last year in the same period, when 81 permits were issued for projects worth over 9.8 million,

Fewer permits were also issued than in the first two months of 2024, though the value of the work done was higher (63 permits for $3.9 million worth of projects).
