Belleville Police have charged a man after multiple calls to 911 were made including one about a fire that didn’t exist.
Wednesday morning around 3 am, Belleville Police responded to a business on Dundas St East regarding a report of an unwanted individual who was being aggressive toward staff.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the male, who stated that he intended to keep calling 911 until he arranged transport to another location, which he reportedly then proceeded to do in front of the officers.
While officers were speaking with the individual, two fire trucks arrived on scene, responding to a separate call that had also been placed by the male.
As a result of investigation, a 64–year–old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:
• False alarm of fire
• Public Mischief
• Fail to comply with a probation order X5
He was held for a bail hearing.
