Bundle up as you start the day on Monday, as a cold snap on Sunday night is lingering into the early morning hours.
Environment Canada has issued a Cold Warning for the entire Quinte Region, from Brighton to Kingston and Prince Edward County up to Bancroft.
Wind Chill values are expected to exceed minus 20 and could hover between minus 25 and minus 30 until things warm up later in the morning.
The advisory is included below.
What: Wind chill values of -25 to -30. When: Early this morning. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside. Keep moving to maintain your body heat and seek shelter from the wind. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #ONStorm.
