Man arrested on assault charge following incident in downtown Belleville

Belleville Police have arrested a man following an attack in the downtown core last week.

On February 17th, Belleville Police attended the downtown area regarding an assault.

It was reported a male had physically assaulted another individual and fled the scene.

Upon investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect.

As a result, on February 25th (Wednesday) at 5:59pm, Belleville Police located, arrested, and charged a 24yearold Belleville man of no fixed address with:
Assault
Uttering threats
Failure to comply with a probation order
Outstanding warrant executed

He was held for a bail hearing. No name has been released.
