Charges laid after two separate calls involving intimate partner violence in Belleville

Charges were laid against two suspects following two separate reports of intimate partner violence in Belleville on Wednesday.

At 5:55 am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the city’s east end.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female who reported that a verbal argument escalated and that a male had pushed her into a door and then onto
the ground.

As a result of police investigation, a 28yearold Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking with a
scheduled court date in April.
About an hour later at 6:55am, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a report of a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female who reported that a verbal argument escalated and a male had punched her in the face.
As a result of police investigation, a 33yearold Deseronto man, was arrested and charged with:

Assault
Fail to comply with a probation order

He was held for a bail hearing.
