A former Belleville Bulls trainer and well-known local funeral director has passed away.
Chris Rutledge was 68-years-old and died at Belleville General Hospital on Monday with his family by his side.
Rutledge was the Bulls trainer dating back to the team’s OPJHL days and was with the OHL club for close to 25 years, among other teams he worked for over the years.
In the last number of years prior to his retirement, Rutledge was also a valued member of Steele Funeral Home.
Rutledge leaves behind a son, two step-children, three grandchildren, two sisters and his chosen brother, Paul Galpin.
An obituary posted on Steele’s website states a public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
