THURSDAY
PIRATES 3 RAIDERS 1
The Picton Pirates pulled off two gutsy rebound victories in recent days, starting off with a 3-1 triumph over the Napanee Raiders, the team that hammered them 11-2 just five days prior.
After a goalless first period, Keenan Wiles got Picton on the board first with his eighth of the year early in the second.
Gerrit Kempers assisted on that goal, then scored the game winner early in the third for the Pirates.
Joey Coates added a tally and a helper as well for Picton and Cohen Bedore was brilliant in making 44 saves, losing a shutout with less than a minute left on a Brody Nielissen goal.
Denholm Blair made 20 saves for the Raiders.
FRIDAY
RAIDERS 4 PANTHERS 1
Napanee managed to rebound on home ice at Best and Bash Arena, taking down the last place Port Hope Panthers.
Kaden Byne and Mason Goodfellow had a goal and an assist, with Neilissen adding another goal and Will Mitchell adding his fourth of the year.
Ryan McGee added three assists, with two from Eric Taher and one courtesy of Ryan Aldridge.
Napanee outshot the Panthers 53-26, with Jacob Brown making 25 stops.
SATURDAY
HUSKIES 5 JETS 0
A chippy game between two Tod Division rivals resulted in a shutout victory for the Frankford Huskies over the Amherstview Jets.
Liam Boyer posted a 27-save goose egg for the top-seeded Huskies.
Thomas Kuipers scored twice and added an assist, brother Jack added one and Nolan Donnelly and Ty McCambridge both counted for Frankford.
The game featured more than 150 PIM, thanks largely to a fight-filled second period.
PIRATES 5 PANTHERS 2
Another satisfying win for the Pirates was secured, thanks to Ty Mulder’s first two PJHL goals.
The 17-year-old defenceman hit the net for the opening goal and the game-winning tally to help beat the Panthers.
Kempers, Ben Smith and Kirk Stevenson added Picton’s other markers.
Blake Brown, Isaih More and Alex Lavender all had two assists.
Cohen Bedore locked down his second win in as many games with 26 saves.
SUNDAY
JETS 3 THUNDER 1
The Trent Hills Thunder were outshot 35-16 by the Jets, but still had a competitive result in a 3-1 road defeat.
Owen Ellis potted the lone Trent Hills goal, his eighth of the year from Sam Thompson to cut into Amherstview’s lead with less than two minutes to go in the second, but the Thunder couldn’t get any closer.
Logan Vale made 32 saves to keep the Thunder close.
Former Wellington Duke Quinn McNamara scored twice for Amherstview
