Belleville Fire & Emergency Services is offering a reminder to residents who want to set off fireworks.
In a message through city channels, BFES officials say under the Fireworks By-law, consumer fireworks are strictly prohibited in all areas of Belleville without strict permission from the Fire Chief. This also includes all City-owned lands and parks.
Violations of the fireworks by-law involving unsafe discharges are enforced by the fire department. If you observe fireworks being discharged in an unsafe manner, call 9-1-1.
