The OPP have released the following statement about a drug trafficking investigation.
Six individuals have been arrested and charged after a drug trafficking investigation in Napanee.
On Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit, and members of the Lennox and Addington County Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Dundas Street.
Officers seized approximately 68 grams of suspected fentanyl, suspected morphine tablets, approximately $680 in Canadian currency, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.
As a result of the investigation:
Troy Finch, 57 years old and Patricia Smith, 49 years old, both of Napanee, were arrested and charged with:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purposes of trafficking – opioid
· Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
· Failure to comply with undertaking
Andrew Vankoughnet, 46 years old, of Napanee, was arrested and charged with:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Nichole Hillson, 38 years old, of Napanee, Brandi Kennedy, 48 years old, of Napanee, and Christopher Roberts, 38 years old, of Tyendinaga First Nation, were arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
Finch, Smith, and Vankoughnet were held in custody for a bail hearing.
Roberts, Hillson, and Kennedy were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
