Four local organizations have received provincial funding for programs that help support seniors in Quinte.
Tyler Allsopp was at the Humane Society of Hastings and Prince Edward on Friday to provide details about just over $80,000 going to four local organizations under the Seniors Community Grants Program.
The Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward is receiving $25,000 (the maximum amount) for their Rescue Companionship Program.
Prince Edward County is also receiving $25,000 for Purposeful Partnerships: A Demiti-Ability-Informed Volunteer Program done in cooperation with the H. J. McFarland Home.
The Mood Disorders Society of Canada is receiving $23,000 for veteran support to promote better mental wellness and reduce social isolation.
Prince Edward County’s Public Library and Archives is also receiving $7,500 for Stories Across Prince Edward County: Connecting Through Books.
