Quinte West is taking steps to help people beat the heat this week.
Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning with the highs expected to peak in the 30’s (or 40’s with humidity) until Wednesday or Thursday.
In response to forecasted temperatures, the Quinte West cooling centre will be open for the next few days.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens on 8 Couch Crescent in Trenton.
Splash pads are also open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in both Trenton and Frankford as the warm weather ramps up.
Belleville’s cooling centres are the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and the Belleville Public Library.
Both communities had their cooling centres open last week, as well.
