Quinte West firefighters responded to a large side-garage on fire at 3 p.m. today.
Smoke from the scene along Telephone Road, west of County Road 40, could be seen by crews at Quinte West Fire Hall #2 in the Murray Ward.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan has confirmed that crews were able to stop the blaze in the garage from spreading to the home. Two propane tanks were located and contained.
The fire was out by 3:30 p.m. No one was home at the time. The homeowners were away.
Fire prevention officers are on the scene to determine the cause.
