Police Seeking Witnesses
The Belleville Police Service is investigating a disturbance between a group of individuals near the intersection of Bell Boulevard and North Front Street.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Police are seeking independent witnesses to contact the investigating officer, Constable London, at 613-966-0882 x4259.
Mischief
Saturday before 1 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a business on North Front Street regarding a disturbance. It was reported that a female was causing issues inside the business and damaged a piece of equipment.
As a result of investigation, Christa Middleton, 46-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
· Mischief under $5000
She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in October.
Impaired Drivers
Friday around 11 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a traffic complaint in the area of South Front Street. It was reported that witnesses observed a male, believed to be intoxicated, enter a vehicle, start it, and fall asleep behind the wheel.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male asleep in the driver’s seat. Officers woke the male and observed signs of impairment.
As a result of investigation, Justin Byers, 38-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol or drugs
· Failure or refusal to comply with demand
Then just before 3 a.m. Sunday, Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of College Street East and Cannifton Road. Officers spoke with the female driver and observed signs of impairment.
As a result of investigation, Jazzmin Koch, 34-year-old Arden woman, was arrested and charged with:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
Both were released on Undertakings with a scheduled court date in August.
Domestic Dispute
Friday, around 8 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. It was reported that a male had locked the door, and a female subsequently caused damage to the door while attempting to gain entry.
Upon arrival, officers observed the female leaving the residence and observed broken glass on the ground from the door.
Upon investigation, officers learned the female was bound by conditions not to communicate with the male or attend his location. The male was also bound by conditions not to communicate with the female.
As a result, the following persons were arrested and charged:
A 43-year-old Deseronto woman was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
· Fail to comply with Undertaking X2
· Mischief under $5000
A 53-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
· Fail to comply with Undertaking
Prohibited Driver
Friday, at approximately 8:45 a.m., Belleville Police located a male driving a vehicle in the city’s north end who was identified as a prohibited driver.
As a result of investigation, Wesley Anderson, 30-year-old Foxboro man, was arrested and charged with:
· Operation while prohibited under the criminal code X2
· Several HTA offences
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in October.
Theft
A business in Belleville’s north end reported that a former employee of the company had taken items from the workplace on multiple occasions while still employed, without making any attempts to pay.
The business also advised that the same individual had previously stolen from one of its affiliated locations.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage and, as a result of the investigation, Avia Charnock, 18-year-old Belleville woman, was located, arrested and charged on Friday with:
· Theft under $5000 X2
She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in September
