A Belleville man faces charges following a violent altercation on Thursday.
On July 23, 2026, at 9:35 p.m., Belleville Police responded to the city’s east end regarding a reported assault.
It was reported that an individual observed a male and female involved in a dispute, during which the male attempted to physically prevent the female from leaving.
The individual intervened, and the female left the area. The male then reportedly assaulted the individual by punching him while reportedly uttering threats to stab him.
As a result of investigation, a 42-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was located, arrested and charged with:
· Assault X2
· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
· Fail to comply with probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
