People of all ages in Belleville can learn about important items to keep themselves and their families safe next week.
The Children’s Safety Village of Belleville is proud to announce two impactful community education events taking place on Wednesday, June 3 in partnership with the Belleville Police Service.
The first event, Digital Fraud & Financial Literacy for Older Adults, will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Village.
This free community session is designed to help older adults stay safe, confident, and informed in today’s increasingly digital world. Participants will learn about online scams, fraud prevention, phishing, identity theft, social media safety, and protecting personal and banking information.
Later that evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Village will host its Driving Under the Influence & Distracted Driving Awareness Program for youth, teens, new drivers, and families.
This educational event is focused on helping young drivers and future drivers understand the real-life impacts and consequences of impaired, distracted, and high-risk driving behaviours.
This event is perfect for families wanting to start important conversations around road safety, especially those with teenagers who are preparing to drive or who have recently started driving independently.
